Gilles Villeneuve Memorabilia

Suit worn by Gilles in Formula Atlantic and at the beginning of his F1 career. First with MacLaren at the British 1977 GP and with with Ferrari at the Japan 1977 GP and Argentine 1978 GP races. This is the suit Gilles wore  the first time he sat in a Ferrari, at the first testing of the Ferrari T2 in Fiorano on September 21, 1977.  Over time some patches were removed and added, which I presume is common pratice for race suits. I’ve had this suit for 25 years; it comes with a great provenance. I was able to meet his brother Jacques Villeneuve, who was gracious enough to spare some of his time to discuss and exchange information concerning Gilles. He confirmed without a doubt that this suit was used by his brother Gilles Villeneuve. SOLD

Helmet worn by Gilles in the 1976 Formula Atlantic season including the Road Atlanta Georgia race held on April 11, 1976.  I’ve had this helmet for over 25 years; it comes with a great provenance. I was able to meet his brother Jacques Villeneuve, who was gracious enough to spare some of his time to discuss and exchange information concerning Gilles. He confirmed without a doubt that this Griffin helmet was used by his brother Gilles Villeneuve. It was later sent to a Californian artist to develop and personalize a design for Gilles on it but when it came back Gilles decided not to use the design. You will notice the similitude between this helmet design and the one he officially adopted for his later races.  POR
