| British Snider Enfield short rifle MK II** .577 caliber, iron furniture, the action lock is maker marked 'B.S.A.Co', dated 1866 and with a V.R. under a Victorian Crown, the barrel has a nice dark brown patina and the wood is V.G.+ showing only normal usage, a very nice sharp 'B.S.A.Co' cartouche is clearly visible on the right side of the butt, the proof marks are sharp and clear, the lock is tight and crisp and the bore is excellent with deep grooves, the original cleaning rod and firing pin protector and chain are still present, the short rifle was issued to Rifle Battalions and Sergeants of infantry Battalions. | VG |
